Christopher views his leadership legacy as a Student Affairs Professional who puts students first! He is someone who believes that any action taken must have a positive impact on the students’ educational experience, allowing for continued mature growth. Christopher is also passionate about guiding both students and his professional colleagues in developing their own legacies of positive leadership.
He comes from the southern farmlands of New Jersey. Being raised in a family business this allowed Christopher to participate in a real time experiment of leadership and view how a legacy is cultivated. This is also where he developed his idea of sustainable leadership and embraced the full understanding that “Leadership is a process, not a position.” Now as he young professional, he hopes to educate students and his peers on the process of leadership that engages the individual in cultivating legacy actively.
Now as a
young professional, Christopher has begun to become increasing his
professional associations; specifically ACPA – College Student Educators
International. In the Fall of 2010, he was elected to the serve as a
Directorate Board Member for the Commission for Student Involvement. In
addition, Christopher chaired an ACPA On the Road drive-in conference at
Connecticut College in November 2010. Though the conversation had ended
around the merger of ACPA & NASPA, he is staying active in the
conversations and is challenging his colleagues around the country to be
just as engaged with the profession as they were before the vote. Our
profession is only going to grow stronger and we need to be a united
voice.
Christopher is planning to further his formal education in a doctoral
program focusing student organizational leadership. He also has research
interests in legacy development, campus/office politics, sustainable
leadership, and social change.
Christopher encourages you to get to know him by spending time reading his website, as well as engaging him in conversations about; leadership legacy, social change, and the equal rights of all people.
